Held under USA Cycling event permit #2008-1843. All USCF Rules apply - USCF membership, rider release required. A one-day USCF license may be purchased at Check-in Race Day. Helmets, cycling shorts, sleeved shirts required - All racers must obey all traffic laws, including staying as safely to the right side of the road as possible, or major time penalty or disqualification! NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION ! Annual and One-Day USCF licenses can be purchased Race Day 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. Registration Fee - $75 ($65 for HCC members) Register online at www.acitve.com or must be postmarded no later than August 1, 2008. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE RACE

Riders' mandatory meeting 9:45 a.m. Mass start @ 10:00 a.m. The distance is approximately 34 miles. Elevation gain is 9,130 feet. The course is very steep from the Mauna Kea Road turnoff (grades +17 %), a 27 rear cog or greater is recommended. When passing, make verbal contact and make sure it is safe to pass before proceeding. Shoulder of the road must be used at all times. All riders must stay to the far right! Check-in 1 (one) hour before Race start! Awards party on Sunday in Kona after TT event: additional details will be available at on race day, or at www.hawaiicyclingclub.com.

Bonus event! On Sunday, Aug 10 a 10 mile time-trial will be held in Kona at the Bottom of the Palisades. Start time is 7:30am. If you are entering both races the TT will be an additional $10. If just the TT, then $15. All race participants are invited to attend the award party (food included).

Sea-to-Star Prizes: 1st Male/Female Riders to finish - $100 each. 1st place in each category - $70 (All prizes combination cash & merchandise). CATEGORIES: Open (non-USCF) Mountain Bike.
